On April 15, 2026, the FDA published a Federal Register notice removing twelve peptides from its Category 2 restricted-compounding list, with the change taking effect April 23, 2026. The list was originally created in late 2023 after safety concerns were raised about compounding these substances. According to public reporting, the companies that had nominated the peptides for restriction have since withdrawn those nominations, which prompted the delisting.
The twelve affected peptides include several compounds widely referenced in laboratory research: BPC-157, TB-500, GHK-Cu, MOTS-c, Epitalon, Semax, KPV, DSIP, LL-37, DiHexa, PEG-MGF, and Melanotan II.
